Melanie de La Grange
Vice President of Communications

Melanie de La Grange (formerly Paulos) is Vice President of Communications for the Bay Area Council.  Melanie’s responsibilities include shaping the Bay Area Council’s overall message architecture and distribution. She focuses on media relations, major events, online outreach and the Council's constitutional convention efforts. Melanie has been with the Council since 2008.

Prior to joining the Bay Area Council, Melanie worked as the Director of Membership and Grassroots for the Retailers Association of Massachusetts, an organization that advocated on behalf of retailers and small business at the state level.  Melanie held the position of Assistant Vice President of Multistate Operations in the Grassroots Issue Management Division at McGuireWoods Consulting, a public affairs consulting firm, where she worked on grassroots and grasstops campaigns.  Early in her career, Melanie worked in Texas Politics as Scheduler for Governor Rick Perry, Director of Advance for Lt. Governor David Dewhurst and Assistant to State Senator Jeff Wentworth. 

Melanie grew up in New Mexico where she attended military school and showed horses competitively. Today she enjoys playing tennis, golf and reading fiction. Melanie earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Texas Tech University in Political Science with a minor in Mass Communications.
